Getting Ready for the Holiday Season: Creating Our Winter Tea Lights
The holiday season is just around the corner, and here at Shooting Star, I’m already getting into the holiday spirit! One of the things I love most about preparing for the season is experimenting with different fragrances and creating candles that capture that warm, cozy feeling we all love this time of year.
For my upcoming holiday collection, I’ve been working on a special fragrance blend for my tea lights. I decided to combine two different fragrance oils to create something unique, warm, fruity, spicy, and a little bit unexpected.
The first fragrance is a Winter Market blend with notes of green leaves, peach, and cranberry on top, followed by clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The base brings in praline, coconut, and vanilla, giving it a sweet and comforting finish.
I blended that fragrance with a Tomato Leaf fragrance, which adds a completely different character. It starts with tomato leaf and lemon peel, followed by lemongrass, thyme, and basil, and finishes with moss and green leaves.
Together, these two fragrances create a really interesting combination. You get the sweetness and warmth of the fruit and spices, balanced by fresh green and herbal notes. It’s one of those blends that makes you curious to smell it again because there are so many different notes coming through.
I’m using this blend to make tea lights, and I’m excited to see how they turn out. Tea lights are such a fun addition to a holiday collection because they can be used throughout the home, placed around a dinner table, added to a gift basket, or simply enjoyed when you want a little extra fragrance and ambiance.
As I prepare for the holiday season, I’m making different candles and experimenting with different fragrance combinations. Each batch is part of the process of building a collection that feels special, seasonal, and uniquely Shooting Star.
There’s a lot that goes into getting ready for the holidays, from choosing fragrances and testing combinations to pouring the candles, labeling them, and getting everything ready for customers.
I can’t wait to share the finished holiday collection with you!
